The Temple of Light and Darkness was founded in 2002 by Frater Osiris, the first Chief Adept of the Temple. We performed our first Neophyte Ritual in June of 2003. The Temple performs initiations six times a year, and we plan to work through one Golden Dawn grade per year. Our ultimate goal is to initiate ourselves into Adeptus Minor.

We use slightly modified versions of the initiation rituals presented by the Open Source Order of the Golden Dawn. Many of our members are involved with the OTO and therefore have a greater affinity to Thelemic cosmology than the Christian elements found in the original rituals. While the Temple of Light and Darkness is not affiliated with the OSOGD, we are grateful to them for sharing with us the fruits of their labor and research.

Instruction within the Temple of Light and Darkness is minimal. The traditional grade tests have been revised to reflect our emphasis on operative magick. We do offer public lectures and workshops on magick and related topics in Seattle, Washington.

The Temple of Light and Darkness is governed according to simple and straightforward By-Laws. If you are interested in membership, please read our Admission Policy carefully. Please note that you need a Temple sponsor to sign your admission application before you can hand it in!
