By-Laws of the Temple of Light and Darkness

I. Governance

a. Three officers administer the TLD.

i. The Chief Adept governs the TLD, and is responsible for making all final decisions concerning the operation of the Temple.

ii. The Treasurer is responsible for all financial transactions. This officer is required to keep accurate records of all transactions.

iii. The Secretary is responsible for recording and disseminating minutes for all meetings of the TLD. This officer is required to keep an accurate record of Temple membership.

b. Officers are appointed by the Chief Adept. The Chief Adept may appoint other officers as necessary.

c. Officers will be evaluated every six months at the Equinoxes.

II. Membership

a. There are three requirements for full membership in the TLD.

i. Initiation into the Neophyte Grade.

ii. Participation in the TLD, especially in the Neophyte Ritual as an Officer of the Hall.

1. The office of Sentinel is considered to be an introductory officer role, and therefore performance of this role will not count toward the fulfillment of the participation requirement.

iii. Demonstration of basic magical knowledge through successfully passing the Neophyte examination.

1. The Chief Adept or his delegated representative will administer the examination.

III. Admission

a. There are three steps in the process for admitting new members into the TLD.

i. Fill out a written Application.

ii. Interview the applicant.

iii. Vote on admission at next Temple meeting.

IV. Conduct

a. Members are expected to respect the rights of other members, especially the right to privacy.

V. Demission

a. Bad conduct shall be grounds for demission from the TLD.

b. Members may be removed by the Chief Adept or by a majority vote of the membership. A written statement of the reason for demission must be prepared and kept on file.

VI. Assembly

a. The TLD will meet once a month on a predetermined day (i.e. first Tuesday of the month).

VII. Amendment of By-Laws

a. The by-laws of the TLD may be amended by a 2/3-majority vote of the full membership.

b. The by-laws will be reviewed by the membership of the TLD every six months at the Equinoxes.
